Christian Heritage Tour Plan

Christian Heritage Tour Day 1 – ARRIVAL

A travel representative will meet you at Ben Gurion International Airport and transport you to your hotel located in Tel Aviv.

Christian Heritage Tour Day 2– CAESAREA / MEGIDDO / HAIFA / ACRE

Our Christian Heritage Tour starts with our departure from Tel Aviv.

We will drive along the scenic coastal plain to Caesarea, capital of Judea under the Romans and site of Roman temples and Christian Churches.

We will continue to the excavations of the ancient city, including the Roman theatre facing the sea, which has been fully restored.

Next we will visit Megiddo, identified as the site of Armageddon in the Christian Book of Revelations. We will visit the impressive archaeological excavations at this 2005 World Heritage Site, which are testimony to remains of civilizations dating back to biblical times.

Our next stop will be Haifa, the world center of Baha’i and the site of the shrine of the Bab and famous terraced gardens.

From there we will continue north to Acre, a port on the Bay of Haifa, and visit the ancient city and harbor including landmarks such as an ancient citadel, walled fortifications, the al-Jazzar mosque, and several churches dating from the Crusades.

Next we will head to Kibbutz Lavi, where we will spend the night.

Christian Heritage Tour Day 3 – TIBERIAS / CAPERNAUM / TABGHA / BANIAS SPRING

We will start the day with a tour around the Sea of Galilee, beginning with Tiberias, an attractive city on the shores of the magnificent lake.

Many Christian churches were erected here, inside and outside the Old City walls. From there we continue east to Capernaum, where Peter lived and where Jesus began his public ministry. We will visit the remains of the synagogue where Jesus preached. 

Onward to Tabgha, the site where the Miracle of Fishes and Loaves took place. We will tour the Church of Multiplication with its 4th century mosaic floor and pause for reflection at the location of the famous Sermon on the Mount.

We will then head north to the Banias Spring and Waterfall and explore the Golan Heights.

We will end  the day with a drive back to Kibbutz Lavi

Christian Heritage Tour Day 4– CANA / NAZARETH / BET SHE’AN

Our day will begin with a tour of Cana, where Jesus performed his first miracle, and continue to his hometown of Nazareth. In Nazareth, we will visit the Church of the Annunciation, St. Joseph’s workshop, Mary’s well and enjoy the sites and scents of this sizzling Mediterranean city.

We will then drive to Beit She'an, a newly excavated city, and visit the impressive Roman theatre.

Finally we will head south along the Jordan valley and ascend to Jerusalem

Christian Heritage Tour Day 5 – JERUSALEM

After leaving the scene of the early ministry of Jesus in the Galilee region, we will tour Jerusalem, beginning with a view from atop the Mount of Olives.

From there we will walk towards the Church of all Nations (Gethsemane), view the Tomb of King David and visit the Upper Room, site of the Last Supper.

Our tour will lead us to the Old City, where we will explore the Cardo, an ancient marketplace where shopping is still possible to this very day.

We will then visit the Western Wall, the holiest site of the Jewish People. We will stop at the Stations of the Cross, while walking along the Via Dolorosa towards the Church of the Holy Sepulcher.

We will end our tour with an authentic Middle Eastern experience of walking through the colorful Oriental Bazaar.

Christian Heritage Tour Day 6– JERUSALEM / BETHLEHEM / HOLY LAND MODEL

We will begin our day by visiting a large model of the holy city that simulates Jerusalem of 2000 years ago. From there we will head towards Yad Vashem and visit the Holocaust Memorial. We will stroll through the quaint village of Ein Kerem and visit the Church of Visitation. Next we will explore the treasures of the Israel Museum including the Dead Sea Scrolls, housed in the dramatic Shrine of the Book.
Our last station in this day will bring us to one of the most special and holiest places  -  Bethlehem. We will Enjoy a unique and safe visit to Jesus’ birthplace, Bethlehem, the Church of the Nativity and Manger Square.

Christian Heritage Tour Day 7 – DEAD SEA / MASSADA

Our day will begin with a descent to the Dead Sea, the lowest place on earth, known for its physical healing abilities. We will then pause at Qumran, where the Dead Sea Scrolls where found to visit the ancient remains.

Our next stop will be Massada where we will ascend by cable car and explore the ruins of Herod's luxurious palace, and hear of the end of the Jewish Revolt against the Romans that took place here. Our day comes to a close with a drive to Tel Aviv.
